Sampling is the act of taking a portion of an existing recording — a melody, rhythm, lyric, vocal, or other sound — and reusing it as an element in a new composition. A foundational technique in Hip-Hop production since the 1970s, popularized through DJ culture and breakbeats, and central to genres like boom bap, trip-hop, and lo-fi. Distinct from "sampling rate" (the digital audio frequency used in PCM encoding).
TR-808、808 bass、808

The art of using turntables as musical instruments — DJs create new sounds live through techniques like scratching and beat juggling. An extension of DJing (one of the Four Elements), elevating the DJ from a "record player" to a "performer".
